PANIC ATTACKS + DISSOCIATION‼️ Ever had an experience where you go sort of “absent”? (If you’re familiar with absence seizures you might even describe it as looking similar) ... Triggered by worry and/or sensory over-stimulation, you go into this weird “freeze” mode. It can be hard to talk and even hard to breathe. It might last just a few seconds, or minutes, or maybe longer. I recently read a friend's thread where she described having this experience periodically, and she asked, “Do I need to be looking deeper into this?” 🔍 Here’s my take on it (from someone who has been there personally *and* seen this professionally): If your brain is living in a chronically elevated fight-or-flight response aka Persistent Stress Mode, the threshold for over-stimulation may be hypersensitized. If that’s the case, it’s absolutely an indicator that there might be something deeper happening, and is worth investigating.
